Most of the barn wood is yellow pine wood but sometimes it will be hemlock wood or fir wood. The barn lumber is sourced in the United States most of it locally in Pennsylvania near the Amish craftsman’s woodshop.

Reclaimed barn wood will have naturally distressed features and characteristics such as nail holes, screw holes, worm holes, hairline cracks, paint in the grain, water marks and even carvings. Some boards are more distressed than others and the nail holes can be filled by selecting this option on the product page. Rustic virgin lumber and distressing options on new wood are available for those that want more control over the vintage, weathered look.
